Stung By Wasp, White, Swollen, Red, Itchy. No Relief With Topical Benadryl. Need For Concern
I was stung yesterday by a wasp or bee - I immediately saw the sting point and felt it and over the next hour watched it go from nothing but the point, white and swollen around it, to totally gone. I woke up today with about a 4" slightly raised red, itchy, warm area around the sing point. Topical Benadryl doesn't work. Should I be concerned?
Take injection dexona 2 ml intramuscularly as loading dose and then steroids tab. in tappering dose for 1 to 2 weeks.
Apply calamine lotion to reduce the burning and itching.
You will get good response.
Thanks.

Hi, You have developed hypersentive reaction to bee sting. Take antihistaminics like levocetirizine. Take injection dexona 2 ml intramuscularly as loading dose and then steroids tab. in tappering dose for 1 to 2 weeks. Apply calamine lotion to reduce the burning and itching. You will get good response. Thanks. Dr. Ilyas Patel MD
