Street Dog Bite On The Calf. Cleaned With Betadine. Took Rabipur Injection. Any Care Needed?

Helo sir 5 days back a street dog bite on calf, its just a scrached, after an hour i clean it with betadine and then after 4 days i took ribapure injections for three doses as on 28.04.2013 then 1.05.2013 and 05.05.2013 is that ok or i should go for 2 more shots, and please guide me for diet, should i stop taking protein

Hi and welcome to HCM,thank you for your querry.
It should be taken by schedule 0,3,7,14,28 so take 2 more doses and it will be fine. There is no need to stop taking protein and no specific diet. Just dont worry,eat normally and watch for wounds infection and everything will be fine.

Regarding your query,,you have cleaned the wound with betadine..
you must take anti rabies vaccine(post exposure prophylaxis) after the bite or even lick of a dog..you should take 5 doses on 0 3 7 14 28 days..0 means the 1st dose,,,
continue the remaining 2 doses in time..it is the only way to prevent rabies..
rabies has no cure in the entire world..only prevention is there with vaccine..
regarding diet you may take what ever you want..there are no dietary restrictions..take protein also no problem.
