Stomach Pain, Vomiting, Diarrhea. Reason?

A couple years ago I had to get a shot in the butt to keep me from vomiting and I feel as though the virus might be back except there s a slight difference this time. I was sleeping and was woken up by a pain in my stomach and a feeling like I had to puke. So I went to the bathroom and sure enough I puked up a lot of fluid, not really solids. I thought everything was ok so I went back to bed. Maybe a half hour later I was up again puking and having diarrhea at the same time. This throw up event was brought on the same way as the first except I couldn t get comfortable my right side below my ribs hurt adn I tried to lay on my stomach and it felt like something was solid in it. The second time I puked there where solids and liquids and the incident occurred again about an hour later. I haven t eating anything different, but I did have a raw cookie dough the other day, not too much maybe a spoon full. Not sure what to do, but my stomach is still hurting and ill probably throw up here shortly. I am drinking lots of fluid so I don t become dehydrated, but its like my body is ridding me of everything in my body, liquid and solid.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M.. Forum.
If I were your treating physician for this case of severe ( recurrent , however after many years)vomiting, I would come up with this possibility , include as,
1 The most prominent cause may be peptic ulcer disease or Hiatus hernia .
Diagnosis can be confirmed by upper G I endoscopy .
Try raising the head of your bed about 4 inches above with blocks.
It might also help to avoid eating or drinking for two hours before you lie down.
To help control the stomach acid one should not drink alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them or eat chocolates or spicy food or greasy foods.
Also take some antacid but if symptoms are severe , then you may need drugs like proton pump inhibitors.
This vomiting and diarrhea may happened due to overeating or spicy food before sleep .
2 Due to pancreatitis vomiting & loose motion present , so get serum amylase and serum lipase for confirmation of diagnosis.
I suggest you consult a physician get his opinion and treatment .
Good luck. Dr. HET
