Started Taking Ortho Cyclen When Periods Started, Still Bleeding 2 Weeks Later. Is It Normal ?
I started taking Ortho Cyclen on June 29th, the Sunday after my period started. It is now 2 weeks later and I am still bleeding. Should I stop taking them or see a doctor or is this normal? I have taken these before and they never did this to me. I just had a baby on February 11th. So I'm not sure what to do. and i have really painful and heavy periods. I'm bed riden the first 3 days.
Ortho-Cyclen is combined OCP and highly effective against unwanted pregnancy if it is taken on regular basis. Some women may face irregular spotting or bleeding for initial few months due to hormonal imbalance.
Though, I suggest to consult with gynecologist to perform pelvic examination and other investigation to rule out underlying pathology (if any). Take suggestive treatment accordingly.
Maintain genital hygiene and take some anti-spasmodic medication for temporary pain relief. Good luck.
