Sore Throat That Feels Like Right At Front Of Neck And Back And Shoulder Blade Pain
Hello Welcome in H.C.M. I have gone through your query regarding persistant sore throat for one month along with soreness on right side of neck with nodes which had been suspected for thyroid nodule. Regarding your query I would like to say that prolong sore throat is usually caused by - 1- Associated sinusitis. 2- Chronic tonsillitis. 3- oropharyngeal candidiasis. 4- Diabetic throat. So my opinion is that since you are having sore throat for one month so there are possibility of any of above that should be thoroughly ruled out. Secondarly because of prolong infection there is possibility of cervical lymphadenitis that may be feel by patient as lump. Though your neck lump had been suspected for thyroid lump, so that should be ruled out and other possibility is of lymph node. But theses may be easily differentiated by- (a) Ultrasonography of neck. (b) FNAC from neck lump. (c) Blood investigation- T3, T4, TSH. So My suggestion is to consult your ENT doctor for examination, necessary investigations and treatment. Regards.
