Hello,
Thank you for posting your query on HCM.
Acne as you must be knowning is a common inflammation of your oil producing glands(sebaceous glands) and affects almost every teenager sometime or the other as oil production in skin is dictated by your hormones.
Acne, beyond 30 years of age is usually uncommon but given the history of use cosmetics, its pretty common especially in those with oily skin.
For treatment part, i would first advise you to change your cosmetics to water-based instead of oil-based and always remove makeup with good cleanser(
Cetaphil OS cleansing lotion)
Secondly, avoid picking and scratching of pimples as it may lead to pigmentation(Dark spots) and scarring.
For active pimples, i would like to put you on oral doxycycline/
azithromycin and apply creams containing
clindamycin twice a day and a gel containing
adapalene and
benzoyl peroxide at bedtime, with a pea-size amount gently all over face without rubbing.
Avoid fatty food and foods containing refined sugars (white bread, chocolates etc).
Drink plenty of water and have good amount of fresh fruits and vegetables daily.
Hope you will be fine soon.
Take care.
