Hi,
Thanks for using the HCM. I am happy to address your questions, Practin contains the active ingredient
cyproheptadine, a first generation antihistamine; has potent antihistaminic and serotonin antagonist properties; also has
anticholinergic and sedative effects and reportedly has calcium-channel blocking activity. This medication relieves seasonal and year-round allergy symptoms such as watery/itchy eyes, runny nose, and sneezing. It is also used to relieve itching and hives caused by some skin conditions. The common side effects are drowsiness,
blurred vision, loss of coordination, upset stomach, constipation, increased appetite, weight gain, thickening of mucus in the nose/throat, or dry mouth may occur. Some serious side effects may occur like mental/mood changes (e.g., unusual excitement, confusion,
hallucinations), irregular heartbeat, difficulty urinating, seizures,
abdominal pain, yellowing eyes/skin, dark urine, unusual tiredness. Dexona (
Dexamethasone) is a corticosteroid hormone (glucocorticoid). It decreases your body's natural defensive response and reduces symptoms such as swelling and allergic-type reactions. It is also used to treat conditions such as arthritis, blood/hormone/immune system disorders, allergic reactions, certain skin and eye conditions, breathing problems, certain bowel disorders, and certain cancers. The common side effects are
stomach upset, headache, dizziness, menstrual changes, trouble sleeping, increased appetite, or weight gain may occur. These are some of the side effects and it is not recommended to stop taking these medications without discussing it with your clinician, as it may need to be slowly tapered to avoid untoward side effects. . Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Thanks
