Hi,

As per the history of your son, he is suffering with the streptococcus infection that means he will be having fever tenderness and inflammation.

Fever will subside first, that was what has gone now. Because the swelling and inflammation takes little time and will subside with time.

In case there is swelling in throat area, difficulty in breathing or taking food. Yes, you may need to change the antibiotic medication and for that you need doctor's consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
