Should Std Test Be Done After Protected Sex With A Prostitute And Later Developing Flu Symptons, Swollen Lymph Nodes On Neck?

hello doctor i had sex with prostitute using condom on oct 3. after two later had a flu like fever, chills, sore throat, stomach pain, small swollen lymph nodes on neck these symptoms continue for 2 week. i am worried about about having hiv or other std? should i need a test for std

I think it would be prudent to get tested for STDs. Especially if you had unprotected oral contact. It is very good that you used a condom, and that will generally help protect against most STD's but oral contact can still transmit STDs. HIV is fortunately not usually transmitted in saliva, but it can be transmitted in other body fluids such as vaginal secretions. Anyway, you will at least have the reassurance that you are clear of STDs if you get tested. I hope you hear good news, and stay healthy!
