Should Recurring Bump On Neck With Foul-smelling White Discharge Be Surgically Removed?
I've had a small bump/cyst on my neck for over a year. I squeeze it once every week or so and it secretes a white discharge that has a terrible odor. There is a sizable pore which keeps scabbing over and won't heal. My efforts to self-treat aren't working. Does it need to be surgically removed?
I can understand your concern for recurring bump on neck with foul-smelling white discharge.
There can be a possibility of either a sebaceous cyst or a lipoma with secondary infection in your case.
You should meet your treating doctor to get proper diagnosis. Do not try to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem and spread of the infection. This area is quite common to get infected very easily because of sweating and high bacterial proliferation.
