Should Physical Therapy Benefit In Case Of Tear In Articular Cartilage?

I have a grade 4 tear in my articular cartilage 1mm. To top it off my knee isn't aligned correctly. I am 26 years old. I've had nothing but pain for over 2 months. My orthopedic surgeon is sending me to physical therapy which only swells and makes my knee hurt worse. I did share this with him. He makes it sound like physical therapy is going to fix this issue. I am not convinced, and I am more confused then ever.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern no need to be confused in my opinion it is better to get done the MRI test this would clear the picture and form this you would be having better ideas to consult the another orthopedic surgeon, till then it is advisable to keep the knee joint in rest and for the pain relief you can try the NSAID this would give better result have nice day.
