Should I Be Worried About The Heavy Bleeding And Stomach Ache?

Hi, I am 23 years old. About 5ft 2 and weigh about 9 1/2 stone. I have had the implant in now for a year and never had a period but this morning I have woken up to find very heavy bleading and a very sore stomach. Is this normal?? Do I need to worry??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is normal to experience heavy flow and pain during first 1 to 2 days of your period. Apply warm compress and take Tylenol for pain relief. Stay hydrated and take rest. The symptoms will subside.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
