Should I Take Child To The Doctor If He Has Pain When Chewing After Head Injury?

hai doctor this is for my son he is 4 year old today his head hit on a wooden piece there is lumb on the right side of his head above ear no any symptoms of head injury he is complaining pain when chewing do I need to take him to doctor or I need to observe some more hours now nearly 4 hr. please give me an immediate advice

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

As you have mentioned swelling above ear could be due to edema due to injury.Pain while chewing could be due to injury to temporalis muscle(chewing muscle). Pain reducing medications are sufficient to reduce his pain. not to worry.

If he gets any increase in swelling size, vomiting, giddiness, blurred vision, needs immediate management by a doctor.
If pain on chewing doesnot subside by 2 or 3 days get it examined by a doctor.
