Sharp Chest Pain, Tender Chest. What Is The Problem?
I have a chest pain(not an excruciating one but sharp and needling non the less) that seems to be worse when im not sitting straight or standing and my chest is also tender to the touch. I have no dificultys breathing no squeezing feelings and no indigestion to my knowledge. It has occered twice in this last month, both times it would come on in the later evening as i am sitting at the tv. and will follow me to sleep(making getting comfortable imposible)with some residual pain and tenderness in the morning. The pain and tenderness is usualy accompanied by an urge to somehow crack/pop my chest but i have no idea if that is possible or safe or even if it would help at all. What on earth is my malfunction?
The main problem that you have mentioned is that of severe sharp pain in the chest. Pain in the chest can be due to disease process of pleura, bone or soft tissue. Besides these causes, involvement of the nerve by any disease process can also cause this kind of pain. However, chest pain associated with posture favors pleural pain. You can visit your doctor for clinical examination and investigations. A X-ray chest and CT scan of the chest will help to determine the cause of the pain.
