Severe Irritation, Swelling Around Anus, Painful. Blood Gushed Out During Bowel Movement. Is It Hemorrhoids?

I have a horrible irritation and swelling around my anus to the point it is painful and very difficult to sit go to the bathroom and even shower and walk for the last 5 days at first I though it might be hemmroids so I used over the counter medication and it has only gotten worse. Now I took a bowel movement and blood gushed out. I felt bad after a party and I thought I felt like I had food poisoning right before this began happening. I had hemmroids after I gave birth to my daughters and it feel very similar to that. Could you please let me know if you have any suggestions?

In the current scenario and with blood gushing out, you should not delay in seeking medical aid. It could be a thrombosed pile mass based on the picture you have described. As you suspect food poisoning, an infection also has to be ruled out. It so happens that inflamed intestine has enlarged blood vessels that rupture easily. Please get a local examination including sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy if needed and get necessary treatment. Wish you good health.
