Severe Bacterial Pseudomonus Infection In Sinuses Resulting From Sinus Surgery.

My mother has had a severe bacterial pseudomonus infection in her sinuses resulting from sinus surgery for almost 6 months now and the doctors she has been seeing keep brushing her off. She has seen several doctors and they never answer any of her questions. She has been on several different antibiotics and none seem to work. Including those received intravenously through a PICC line. Is there a top rated infectious disease doctor within a couple of hours from South bend IN that you would recommend her seeing? What should we do next?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
I understand your concern regarding your mother. Pseudomonas is one of the bacteria which easily gains resistance against many antibiotics. Therefore culture sensitivity testing is very important before prescription of antibiotics. After the test, you will come to know if the bacteria is really responding to the antibiotic therapy.
Please get the test done and get in touch with an ENT surgeon nearby you who can help you based on the test results.
Thanks.
