Scan Shows Single Live Intrauterine Fetus. Situs Solitus Is Noted. Can This Be Explained?

Hello Doctor.. we had 32nd week scan today and the below is the impression.. LMP - 16/12/11 GA/LMP : 31 weeks 3 days Single live intrauterine fetus seen in longitudinal lie in breech presentation at time of scan. Placenta - of grade II maturity, posterior upper and mid segment. 1. Fetal left renal pelvis is mildly prominent measuring 9.5 mm 2. Situs solitus is noted 3. No evidence of placenta praevia 4. Liquor adequate with AFI - 14.0 cm 5. Three vessel cord seen EFW : 1943 +/- 284 gm FHR : 140 B/min EDD by LMP : 21/09/12 EDD by USG : 11/09/12

Hello and thanks for posting your query on HCM
Your scan report suggets that your baby is lying in upside down position that is normally the head lies below but in your case the feet lie near the cervical pole.
Situs solotus means that all organs are correctly placed in the baby.
Placents is maturing well and its position in the uterus is normal.
The gestational sac or the bag of waters ihas adequate fluid in it.
Your expected date of delivery is 11th September 2012.
