Red bump in corner of left eye, can also feel a bump kind of inside my eye lid next to red bump. It has been there for about a month and have tried antibiotic drops and ointment also warm compresses but nothing seems to help. Doctor said the temporary diagnosis was a chalazion .. It is very annoying. How do i get rid of it?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Chalazion is painless swelling involving the glands of the eyelids.
The treatment for the condition in the initial stages is by hot compression and antibiotic eye drops or eye ointments. In the later stages chalazion requires either direct in jectios into the swelling of long acting steroids or surgical treatment in the form of incision and curettage. I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for further treatment as the swelling has not responded to medical line of treatment.
Thank you

Ophthalmologist Dr. Sushama Suram's  Response
Hi..
Thanks for the query..
It could be a chalazion and you are in correct treatment line only..
The next option would be to go for an incision and curettage of the chalazion..
There can be recurrences after the procedure also..
Discuss with your treating doctor and follow the treatment accordingly..
Meanwhile you can continue warm compresses and ointment also..
Hope this information helps.. Take care..
