Recovered From Stroke After Emergency Hysterectomy After Delivery. On Warfarin And Gained Weight. Any Solution?

3 months ago i gave birth to my 3rd child. immediately after labor, the doctors could not stop the bleeding. i was rushed to the operating room for an emergency hysterectomy. when i woke up i kept complaining that i could not see. nurses kept telling me it was because of the operation and it would go away. come to find out 20 hours later that i had a stroke. the whole left side of my body was compromised and i could not see. since leaving the hospital i have recovered about 75%. the problem is that i have extreme weight gain. i have altered my diet as much i can which is hard when i am not allowed to eat alot of vegetables due to the warfarin. i have gained almist 50 pounds in 3 months. im am extremely afraid due to the fact that i was already overweight. i am fearful of diabetes now. i cant exercise because my body is just not capable to do enought to make a difference. what can i do????

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
After a childbirth and a major surgery, it is common to gain much weight due to decreased physical activity and hormonal changes in the body. Active lifestyle, regular mild exercises and a healthy diet are the surest ways of losing extra kilos.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
