Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Mild
hypopigmentation can occur as a result of deficiencies in your diet commonly if you are young.
Do you often go out in the sun. Sun damage and reactions can cause scaly dull patches that may turn red, itchy, or brighter on sun exposure.
It could be a common
fungal infection called
tinea versicolor often exacerbated by sweating or moisture of the skin, often scaly and itchy.
Though unlikely from your description, if your patches are visibly increasing in size and whiteness, you will need to be observed by a
dermatologist for conditions like
vitiligo. Note any changes like pain/numbness/tingling/similar patches elsewhere, etc.
As of now you may start a
multivitamin supplement like VB7 Forte capsules. Use an antifungal soap like KZ. Always apply sunscreen 20 mins prior to any sun exposure. The patches will take a couple of weeks to show changes. For itching you can use an antihistamine tablet like Levocet.
I would advise to visit a dermatologist and follow-up to examine the skin and rule out fungal infection and give you oral medication as required, and also to check for other causes mentioned.
I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
