Hi,
Slight spotting during mid-cycle can be due to ovulation. It can last for 2-3 days or just for a few hours. Prolonged bleeding in the absence of a regular period calls for further evaluation. Also, the fact that the bleeding happened subsequent to an intercourse calls for a local examination by an expert and a pap smear may be needed. If everything is fine after examination, it could be an ovulatory bleed and cramps are also part of it. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good health.
