Prescribed with Primolut to stop periods. Side-effects, dosage and administration to stop periods?

Hi, my dr prescribed me 5mg od of primolut n to stop my next period due in 13 days. Cycle is 28 days. Started this morning but only took half tab as worried about side effects. Already have mild anxiety and feel spacey. 2 questions, will the dose of 5mg od work to stop my period? Or do I need to take a higher shorter term dose?
