Prescribe Medicines For Diabetes

Hello doctor,



I am 57 yrs old, since last 2 yrs I am diabetic and was taking metaformin 500mg X2 daily, since

last 6 months I am taking 50mg/500mgX2 daily, now my hba1c is 6.5 and fbs is 138, should I continue with the same medicine or can I go for metformin, the reason is when I take janumet I feel very tired and affected my fasical skin.

Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

Sir, the anti diabetic drug (Sitagliptin phosphate monohydrate and metformin) hydrochloride you are using is good enough as the sugar level of HbA1c is under good control. But you should not go back to single drug again.

But if you have side effects like you have mentioned, then you need to discuss with the treating doctor and ask him for another two drug combination.
