Prescribe Medicines For Bladder Infection

I had a bladder infection and the Dr. prescribed Sulfamethoxazole-TMP 500 mg 2 tablets daily for 7 days. The bladder infection is much better but, now I have a sinus infection too. Ran a fever of 99.9 degrees last night. I have have enough pills for today and tomorrow, should I try to get a refill?

Hello and thank you for asking HCM.

I have read your symptoms and i understand your concerns.

-sulfamethoxasole is a great antibiotic, but usually it is prescribet for urinary tract infections because thats the tract that it has its maximum power to kill bacteria.

-for sinus infection there are some other types of antibiotics (augmentine for ex) that works great for that region.

Before taking another type of antibiotic, i suggest you check up with your physician to confirm the diagnosis first and if he thinks that you have a sinus infection he will prescribe the antibiotics.

-for the pain you can use ibuprofen and also some hot chamomile or lemon tea will help for the symptoms.

If you have any other question feel free to contact me.
