Pregnant. Have Clear Water Discharge, Vaginal Candidiasis, Low Lying Placenta. Started Canesten. What May Be Wrong?

Hi, I am 28 years old, 20 weeks pregnant. I've two queries:
1: I had a clear watery discharge last week, i had a check up by my doctor. It turned out vaginal Candidiasis. I started with Canesten 100mg vaginal pessaries. On the second dose, i had severe itching all over body but no rash. I took Loratidine 10mg at that time but still feeling a little bit itchy. What's your advice regarding continued use of Canesten. What's the alternative?
2: I has anomaly scan last week. Everything was fine. Placenta was low lying reaching near os. I have to travel from Pakistan to Canada in my last trimester which is 20 hours long flight with transits in between. What's your advice regarding the travel. How much can I delay it?
Regards.

Hi,
1. You should rule out monilial infection as candida usually causes thick discharge. If Candidiasis has been diagnosed, it takes at least 3 days to a week before your symptoms subside. You can switch to vaginal gel or oral medication after consulting your doctor.
2.Low-lying placenta at this stage usually recedes up as pregnancy advances. You can follow it up with another scan at 28 weeks and decide your travel based on that and after discussing with your doctor.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
