Pregnancy Scan Revealing Fetus Having Bilateral Renal Pelvicalyceal Dilation, Slow Draining Of The Kidneys. Need More Information

Hello i am currently 20+5 weeks pregnant and after going to my 20 week scan on Thursday i was told my son had something called bilateral renal pelvicalyceal dilatation and his kidneys were slow at draining his right measured = 5mm and his left = 6.2mm i just want to know more about this and what it means for him in the future?

Bilateral renal pelvis dilatation in male fetuses is commonly seen due to presence of posterior urethral valve which can be easily treated surgically after birth.
