Pain When Clenching Buttocks. Taken Ibuprofen And Paracetamol. Have Insulin Dependent Diabetes. Help

I have pain when i clench my buttocks right at the bottom of my spine and it feels uncomfortable when i am walking particularly when walking up hill. I have had it for about 3 weeks on and off. I am very active and play golf and have not had this before. I have taken Ibroprufen and paracetemal but they don't seem to have made any difference. I would value your opinion. Apart from being insulin dependent diabetic I am normally in very good health.

hi,
we firstly need to know when and how did it start??do u have difficulty in various positions esp. sitting on a bed or chair..., side lying etc
Though your symptoms are suggestive of COCCYDYNIA(inflammation at tail bone).
You should first visit an orthopaedician and get an x-ray done, if it is troubling you too much.
you can follow certain measures:
- Take hot fomentation at that particular area.(atleast twicw a day)
- Try to avoid sitting in one position for long, distribute the pressure by acquiring various positions.
- Do butt hopping exercise while sitting to distribute the pressure.
- Get indulged into a daily exercise regimen esp. core strengthening, which will strengthen your entire back and abdomen and help you regain an erect posture and hence will help you walk better.
This is it for now. you can get back to me for any further query at
