Pain In Stomach, UTI Detected, Cold Sweat. What Can Help?
My daughter went to the e.r this past Monday because she got a bad pain un y her stomach had her rolling, screaming and kicking. They tested her urine and said it was a UTI that caused.her pain and a fever but I m not convinced that the UTI is doing this to her, she keeps getting the pain in her tummy makes her cry and last night before the pain returned she was having a cold sweat. What can this be? Shes 4 years old by the way.
In UTI, there can be pain or burning sensation during passing of urine. But the pain is not as severe as described by you.
As the urine report shows UTI, she should be investigated for the cause of UTI. One common cause of UTI can be stone in the urinary tract and this stone can cause severe pain. This can explain the severe pain fely by your daughter.
I would suggest that you should get an Ultra Sound of lower abdomen with emphasis on KUB region or X-Ray KUB region. These investigations will help to find if there is stone present in the urinary tract and also the condition of the kidneys.
Also get Culture and Senstivity of her urine, to know which antibiotic will be suitable to treat her UTI. Give her plenty of water as this will also help in limiting the UTI and to flush out the stone, if present, during urination (if the size of stone is small).
I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
