Pain In Left Upper Quadrant, Started With Muscle Strain. Taking Medication, Still Having Dull Pain. Suggestions?
I have been having pain in my left upper quadrant. It started with a muscle strain my back with pain in my back radiating to same area as back in abdomen or diaphragm. After a week of this pain I had a cortisone and toradol injection. Given Mobic, soma and hydrococone if needed. By Monday the pain completely went away. On Thursday pain started to come back. I took the meds given and had relief. The pain in back is gone but the pain in LUQ front is not going away and hurts a lot. I also had a lot of gas pain when this first started but that has gone away. I'm going on my 3rd week of pain.
I'm just not sure where to turn. It a very dull pain.
Thank you Tammy YYYY@YYYY

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for writing to us As per description, pain in left upper quadrant seems most likely due to indigestion and gastric pain. Drinking a lot of water, taking antacid will be helpful. Eat a diet rich in high fibres, fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables, nuts, milk, eggs, pulses and cereals. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
