Operated For Deviated Septum, Big Glob Of Mucus, Blood And Dark Clump When Sneezed, Foul Smell. Is This Normal ?

I recently had my deviated septum operated on 2 weeks ago. I had my splints taken out a week ago on Monday morning. I was told I am now allowed to sneeze through my nose. When I do sneeze through my nose a big and I mean BIG glob of mucous and blood and dark clumped up blood comes out. Yesterday I began noticing a really foul smell in my nose it's really disgusting but it seems that only I can smell it. My question is is this normal? And if it isn't what should I do?

Hello,
No its not normal.
You must consult your ENT specialist and take antibiotic for that and you also need to do proper nasal wash with nasal sprays.
It happens because of im-proper cleaning of nose and because of that the mucus gets accumulated .
Initially you need to clean your nose but DO NOT BLOW.
Till the time the mucosa ie nasal skin grows again and the small hairs take up the proper function of cleaning the secretions.
Foul smell could be because of infection.
