On Tri Sprintec Birth Control. Missed Few Doses. Am Spotting. Have Bak Pain. Pregnant?
Hi. I am on tri sprintec birth control and have missed a few doses on the second week and 1 or 2 on the first week. I have been spotting for 3 days now (light) and have back pain like when I am on my normal period. I still have 2 more weeks for my regular period to come. This has not happened before. Is there A chance I could be pregnant? How do I fix my cycle now?
From the information you have provided, the risk of becoming pregnant is real. Even when on birth control, you still have chances of becoming pregnant and they are greatly increased if you don't take you pills exactly as prescribed. However, i doubt if these are suggestive of pregnancy.
If you have had unprotected sex in the meantime, then I will advice that you wait another two weeks to see whether your menses would show up as planned or not. If they don't, then you should get tested for pregnancy.
The best way to fix your cycle is to continue the drugs as prescribed never missing any doses. For now, just concentrate on continuing the normal course for the remaining pills and your cycle would slowly readjust itself.
I hope this helps and guides you on how to tackle this worry. I wish you the best of possible outcome on this. Feel free to ask me more questions if need be. Dr. Ditah, MD
