Occult Blood In Urine. Ultrasound Normal Except Prostate Size. Blood Due To Some Infection. Suggestions?

i had occult blood in urine last year in summer . in first report it was in number and in the following month s report it was trace. My physician advised ultrasound . It showed no abnormality except prostate size of 21cc with 19cc post void residual urine. the doctor said the blood might be because of some time being infection......i am 39 years of age. no other problems are there. what do u advise????? i take bp medicine.

Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you had occult blood in urine last summer. .You had done your Ultrasound scanning which revealed prostate size of 21cc with post void residue of 19cc.
These are normal values at your age and do not need active treatment at present..
The occult blood that you had could be due to infection in the prostate.
