No Periods. Negative Pregnancy Test. Taken Primolut-N. Later Positive Pregnancy Test. Fetus Affected?
hi,
i had my last period starting on 3rd August to 10th August, 2013. After that there were no periods at all. i conducted pregnancy blood test and it was also negative. then i consulted my doctor who advised me to take Primolut-N, 3 tablets for 5 days. even then i didn't bleed. after using the tablet on 20th day i conducted once again self pregnancy test and i was positive. please let me know will this effect my pregnancy or feotus? and now when should i have my first ultrasound? what do you think i have conceived in August or in October? because my pregnancy blood test conducted on 22nd September was negative.please help me out.

1) Confirmation of pregnancy and estimation of current gestational age are to be done through TVS scan at the earliest. It will also help to determine the time of conceiving.
2) PRIMOLUT-N contains norethisterone and it may cause virilization of female fetus if it is taken after 5th weeks. However, it does not cause any gross birth defect.
3) You should consult with your gynecologist as soon as possible and do periodic check up. Start to take folic acid and vitamins. Do other anomaly scan as per schedule.
