I went to my Dr about 5 weeks ago and had blood test done (about $800 worth of test) I complained of being very tired ( all the time, even when I wake up in the morning I m tired ) my body hurts, joints are sore all the Time. I m feeling a bit forgetful ( I m 41) and feeling a less patient with people. I was told I have RA ( they gave me meds for that) so.....something was said about making a making an appt for me to see someone about my low thyroid. After waiting and not hearing anything, I finally called them back and the Dr has moved to Massachusetts !!!!! So...I m left with still not feeling good due to the low thyroid . What can I do ? Feeling tired, sore and very grumpy
The symptoms that you describe are very suggestive for under active thyroid but it always must be confirmed with hormonal examinations. If your doctor said that hypothyroidism is confirmed by laboratory hormonal examinations than he should have started the treatment.
If you are not able to meet and endocrinologist i would suggest to send us all the results because the dose of the treatment is closely related to the severity of the hypothyroidism.
I would ask you to inform also about your actual body weight.
It will be a pleasure to help you further after having the above results.
Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta
