Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi. One of the ingredients in core is codeine. Codeine is an opioid and has abusive potential. It is converted to morphine in the body which is responsible for the abusive potential.
I would suggest my patient to report to rehabilitation centre where proper opioid deaddiction is done. Long acting morphine substituents like methadone is given initially based on the present opioid tolerance. Subsequently the dose of methadone is reduced over weeks and stopped. This type of treatment will decrease the addiction and also prevents development of withdrawal reactions that happens if you stop codeine all at a once.
Hope the above information helps you. Thanks.
