Multiple Cases Of Peritenitus. History Of Giving Huge Amount Of Water For Ultrasound Of Ovaries Followed By Vomiting, Huge BM. Infection?
I have been on PD for 3 yrs at my home w/o incident till this year. Since March, I have had 4 cases of peritenitus. The only thing I can attribute this to is a procedure that I had in March. I was given a huge amount of water for this ultrasound of my ovaries. This didn't go well and before the procedure, I began vomiting and had a huge bowel movement w/o control. Without proper cleaning equipment, I guess I got some fecal material inside of my abdomen. Could this be the reason for all of my infections?
The fluid advised to be taken before an ultrasound is for proper visualization and in no way can cause the peritonitis from the reproductive tract. The bowel movement during the procedure could have caused infections, but this should have been around the genito-urinary tract or the anal region.
The peritonitis would be due to some internal condition, like your stomach, digestive tract, ovaries, etc.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
