I have gone through your query regarding mucous plug blocking the nasal cavity of yuor 4 years old child. he becomes so much disturbed that he can't sleep comfortably. Though he had been given two courses of antibiotics but this gives relief for a week only.
Most likely your child is suffering from allergic rhinitis, and you may use Normal saline nasal drops to the nostril of your kid this will liquify the gummy mucous so that it will clear by itself.
Secondarily with due concent of your pedia doctor you may give anti allergic to your kid.
I hope this will help you.
Regards.
