Mood Swings, Irritability, Fatigue And Sensitivity To Noise. Hormonal Imbalance?

I have been experiencing mood swings, irritability, sensitivity to noise and fatigue. Even after 8+ hours of uninterrupted sleep I feel tired and irritable. Sometimes noises (kids crying, TV) cause me to have a physical reaction where my neck and shoulders tense up and I have to leave the room. I have to make a real effort to be patient with my kids (1 and 3, especially my 3yo) even when I know the things they do and say are developmentally appropriate. I am wondering if there is a hormonal imbalance at work.

Hi
The problems you have enlisted are what are known as Perimenopausal syndrome. They are common at your age. I would recommend you to bear with it and it will pass in a while. It is a common problem. If they are causing a lot of problems then Hormone replacement therapy can be considered.

Regards
Dr. Om Lakhani.
