Mild Scaling With Oozing From Scrotum, Burning After Using Anti Fungal Cream. Is This Possible Jock Itch?

Recently, I think I have developed what seems to be jock itch over the past 3 days. However, the right side of my scrotum and underneath my scrotum seem to be more affected than the rest of my groin area. I have some mild scaling, and oozing only occurs after I take a shower. Itching isn't that bad because I have been using Gold Bond powder to control it. However, whenever I use anti-fungal cream on my scrotum, it burns for about 10-20 minutes after application. Suggestion?

Hi. Thanks for posting at HCM

Seems to be due to scrotal dermatitis which has got secondarily infected.

I would advice that you consult a dermatologist who would be able to make a visual assessment of it.

Your treating dermatologist might ask you to take a course of oral antibiotics to dry up the oozing.

Application of topical antibiotic ointments or steroid+ antibiotic ointment would certainly improve the condition

An oral antihistamine like cetrizine would help you with the itch part.

take care
