Respected ma'm/ Sir
1. There is no reason that defibrillator should not be working. Defibrillators do not prevent heart attack. They only terminate the attacks of dangerous heart rhythms. They are checked periodically as per schedule decided by your physician. They have extremely low rate of component failure. Moreover, you can always call the representative of the company and get the defibrillator evaluated in physician's office.
2. Possible causes for blood near teeth can be physical injury to mouth due to fall/ seizures induced by rhythm disorder of heart/ tongue bite or an injury to lip in association with severe pain or rhythm disorder of heart.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
