My name is Felicia. about three years ago I notice a small lump above my right knee. then a year later I notice it got bigger the size of a golf ball. I went to see my doctor and he did an MRI and a X-ray. he stated not to worried about it, call it lipoma. I lifted alone but now it starting to cause me problems ETC... numbness, pain but most of all I can't lift my whole leg to get in the car it causes pain I rate it a 6, times it goes to an 8. My question is why and what can I do about it?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The numbness and pain in the leg due to a lipoma can be related to the compression of the nerve in the area. This can be relieved by the surgical removal of the mass. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
