I'm on petrogen birth control shot or depro provera , not so sure , I was ons amoxcillen antibiotics and slept with my boyfriend a few times while on the antibiotics , it was about 4-5weeks ago and I had light periods now for the past two weeks , does amoxcillen have an effect on the birth control ? Could I possibly be pregnant?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Sometimes antibiotics and the recent illness can affect the hormonal levels leading to menstrual irregularities and they can affect the function of the depo also.
And also depo can present with side effects like intermenstrual spotting.
So the spotting you are having can be because of any of these.
You once go for pregnancy test to rule out that possibility.
If the test comes negative no need to worry.
If the spotting repeats you may need additional dose of hormonal pills.
