Less Taste In Tongue, No Control On Right Eye, Told It Is Bell's Palsy And Will Cure On Own. Is It Not Progressive ?

Hi,
On Nov 30 2010 , I felt less taste on my tongue, as if I have a burnt tongue. The next day morning I woke up with no control on my right eye. Also want to mention that I stay in Bangalore and went to north(Delhi) which was colder that time and I was in my 6 month of pregnancy then and I was told by neurologist that this is Bells Palsy and will cure on its own in a months time by taking neurobion tablet and doing some facial exercises.
I consulted neurologists in Bangalore and was told to go for electrical stimulation and continue with vitamins and facial exercises.
It's been over 6 months now and my right eye still keeps watering all the time, there are some movements on right side of my face but with lot of synkinesis.
Worried with synkinesis, I again went to see another neurologist and was told to get NCS test done. That report says that I have some affect on left side as well. The summary of report says :
The amplitude of CMAP's markedly reduced from right facial nerve with prolonged latency and reduced CV's. The amplitude of CMAP's reduced from left facial nerve.
Impression of Report says :
This study is suggestive of bilateral facial neuropathy(right>left)

I am now worried if my Bell's palsy is getting progressive, as no one earlier told me that I have bilateral Bell's Palsy and also I didn't see any symptom on my left side. Please advise.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
bilateral facial weakness should be investigated in details .
You must visit a Physician first and get sarcoidosis, diabetes ,etc ruled out.
Get blood sugars checked , Xray chest and if required HRCT Chest, MRI brain.
See both sided facial palsy is caused when there is a systemic causes ie any cause which can affect the body and facial palsy is just a symptom of it . that yes now you need to get investigated.
as any local cause around the nerve can cause only single nerve palsy .
I find this answer helpful
