Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

X-ray Ankle AP/Lateral and x-ray Foot AP/Oblique should be taken to exclude bony fracture as you have persistent swelling in the region.
Treatment depends upon the findings of X-rays.
Analgesics and serratopeptidase tablets should be given .
Get well soon.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

If you are able to carry on your regular activities normally, then a bony injury is excluded.

From the above description, I suspect that the swelling in the ankle & foot could be of inflammatory origin.

Continue using antiinflammatory medicines as advised by your treating doctor. Apart from that follow the below mentioned measures -

* Rest to the injured part and dont involve in activities which puts additional strain on the injured tissues.
* Ice packing should be applied for about 20 minutes once in every 2 hours.
* Use elastic compression bandage around the swollen area
* Elevation of the limb

Hope this information is helpful. Good day

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
Blakening of skin and further increase of swelling points toward devlopment of infection. I suggest you to consult your doctor for a detailed examination and to rule out any infection. if there is infection , you need antibiotic treatment under guidence of your doctor.
Hope this helps you.
Wishing you good health...
Regards.
