Left Upper Eyelid Has Dark Purple, Blue Bruise. Cause Of Bruising?
My left upper eyelid suddenly has a very dark purple/blue bruise starting near the inner corner and extending about halfway across the lid. I don t recall bumping or even rubbing my eye, or doing anything else to strain it. What might be the cause of this bruising? Might it be a sign of anything serious? What will make the bruise heal more quickly? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks! No blood thinner or other medications. No blurred vision . Slight pain last night about 30 minutes.
Hi ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your question.
Even though the bruise might have resulted due to some kind of inadvertent rubbing in the eyes which you might not be able to recollect, I as a treating doctor of yours would have advised you to go for a clotting profile test of your blood to exclude any clotting/bleeding problem. Also I would refer to an ophthalmologist for a measure of your intra-ocular pressure. If everything comes out to be normal, then the bruise might take two to three weeks to get absorbed and clear. Till then, you can go for some anti inflammatory drug with serrato peptidase either separately, or in combination.
WIshing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
