Knocked To Shin Area, Swollen, Bruised From Knee Down To Foot

Hi there, I play polo crosse and have a knock to my shin area. Appears to be very swollen and bruised from knee down to my foot, also when I press around the swelling it seems to feel like there is fluid underneath and the whole area is very tight and tender to touch. Should I get it seen to? The first injury happend 2 weeks ago and I rode Sunday and made it worse.

Hi and thanks for this query.

Sorry to hear about what happened with your shin.

From the informtion you have provided and the long duration of 2weeks, i will suggest that you get consulted and examined.. This could be an abscess! Depending on the findings, you shall be proposed a personalised management plan. If nothing concerning is identified; then rest and pain medications would be able to help you recover from this. If it is an abscess, then you may need a surgical procedure to get it drained.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.
