Knee Injury. Swelling, Pain, Bruising By Patella, Immobilization. Help

I fell almost like if I was doing a pleat (ballet movement) a week ago felt a snap on my left knee, could not get up from floor for 10 minutes ir so then did so very painfully. When I woke up in morning, i could not bear the pain, knee was swollen, bruising by the patella and the inner part of knee. A couple of days later after rice, immobilization, crutches and nsaids still have pain but not as much. Hard to walk, pain by patella, thigh, and tibia and pulsating feeling on ankle, knee and thigh. Please advise

Hi and sorry about what you are experiencing.

Please, if this pain is worsening in intensity, you cannot bear even minimum weight on it and you really think the joint is unstable, i will suggest that you get a test to evaluate the knee structures and make sure they are all in good shape. It is better to manage conservatively knowing that no ligament or tendons and menisci was damaged during the fall after running a few tests. Feeling a snap may be a warning sign during the fall.

Hope this at least guides and helps....Let us know if there is more you may desire.
Wish you a speedy recovery.
