Itching In Ears, Stinging, Ears Got Pierced. Used Hypoallergenic Earrings. Normal?

Hi.
I recently got my ears pierced for the first time last Friday. She used hypoallergenic earrings and I have been cleaning the piercing twice a day with rubbing alcohol like she told me to. Today my piercing a have started to itch a little and when I cleaned them the left side stung a little and is also a little more itchy than the right. Is this normal healing or is this something I should be worried about?

Hi,

Good to hear that you got a ear piercing done. Ear piercing done with gunshot and using hypoallergenic studs is the safest and sterile way of doing it. It doesn't result in sepsis. The itching could be due to the normal healing process following piercing, nothing to worry. You can just clean the area around the studs with an antiseptic like savlon and keep twisting your earrings the first few days. It should be fine in a day or two.

Take care
