Is Wooziness Due To Tooth Extraction And Stress?

I had to have a tooth pulled last Monday. I ve been put on Amoxicillin for ten days and have experienced frequent wooziness, which I don t find on the list of complications from the meds. I am living with a lot of stress due to our house flooding during Harvey, my husband with first stage dementia and a grown son with mental health issues. Then Christmas came and I m really on overload. I have no other family here to help. So my question is do you think this wooziness could be stress related and coincidental?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, too much stress can cause wooziness and at times it can be a side effect of antibiotic too. However, it can also be a combined symptom of antibiotic side effect and stress.
So it is advisable to consult an Emergency room to get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can be done for confirmation.

If you have been taking antibiotic amoxicillin for 7 days till now you can stop taking the antibiotic and see if the symptoms get better. If it is ruled out to be due to stress then meditation and deep breathing exercises can help in improvement.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora
