Is Warfarin Sufficient To Rule Out Risk Factors For Recurrence Of Massive Pulmonary Embolism?
I had a massive pulmonary embolisam, several years ago, and now I take warfarin.I want to know if ,is there still a risk faktor to get back trombI am 50 years old and these pills I will receive until, the end of my life. Thank you for your response.
Warf is time tested drug for pulmonary embolism. So no need to worry about it. And yes, you have to take it till life long. Monitoring with PT inr is must to titrate its dose. Some very important things to remember when you are on warf. 1st is take it empty stomach and don't eat anything for 2-3 hrs after taking warf.2nd is avoid broccoli and green leafy vegetables, cabbage etc as they contain high vitamin k so nullify the effect of warf.and to avoid future attack of embolism you should avoid smoking, avoid alcohol, weight reduction etc.
